Child Care Opening

We are happy to announce that our child care programs are now open! The Department of Early Education and Care has released new guidelines and requirements for the reopening of child care programs that must be implemented in order to protect the health and safety of all children, families, and staff. These new guidelines include reduced classroom and program ratios that will limit the number of children we can serve at one time.

Prior to returning, you must receive confirmation from a member of our team. If you have not yet received a call, please call us at 552-1559.

Although our capacity is limited, we are able to offer you these options:

If we have space in our program, we will be happy to welcome you back.

If we do not have space in the program your child was attending prior to closure, we may be able to offer you a slot in another one of our programs.

If you are not ready to return to care yet, you can keep your child enrolled for now. If you are receiving an EEC subsidy, EEC will continue to pay us to hold your slot. (If you are receiving a subsidy, EEC will provide options later in the summer to keep your subsidy if you are not ready to return to care at that time.) You do not need to decide a return date yet and we will check in with you later in the summer. If you are not sure what to do, you may want to consider this option and take some more time to decide.
If you are sure that you want to give up your spot at our program: please know that if you terminate your subsidy and you wish to have a subsidy in the future, you will have to return to the EEC waitlist with a new application date, so we urge caution before selecting this option.

The VOC early ed department will act with vigilance in promoting overall preventative health hygiene to minimize the spread of infectious diseases within our programs, including:
Thorough handwashing and covering up coughs/sneezes.

Daily “wellness” checks of students—promptly sending students home if they show signs of illness.

Ensuring all staff and students feeling ill stay home until they recover.

Repeated cleaning of “high-touch” surfaces throughout the school day.

Reassuring children as questions and concerns regarding the virus come up.

Please continue reading below where you will find a link to our reopening plan that will explain the health and safety procedures we will be following as required by the state as well as important procedures such as drop off, pick up, masks, social distancing and more.

As always please contact us at 413-552-1559 with any questions or suggestions. We are committed to working together to ensure the health and safety of the children and families we serve.
